ANIMAL WELFARE TRAINING

• Duration: Mon-Fri, 1 week or more
• Time: 8:00 till lunch time
• Minimum number of students: 1
• Maximum number of students: 8
• Location: Animal Welfare League of Queensland

Sample Schedule (subject to change):

Day 1 Monday

• Orientation and overview of procedure booklet including virus control
• Dog Handling Procedures
• Dog fight control and safety
• Dog Obedience Training 1
• Health Check for dogs and cats - signs and symptoms to look for
• Assistance in cat and/or dog laundry or food storage shed, cleaning and sorting

Day 2 Tuesday

• Cat area cleaning duties and procedures
• Tour vet clinics
• General care, assistance & maintenance in vet clinics and cat/dog areas
• Cat grooming and cuddling
• Dog Obedience Training 1

Day 3 Wednesday

• Dog area cleaning and care procedures
• Dog walking
• Dog beach walking (subject to availability)

Day 4 Thursday

• Dog area cleaning and care procedures
• Dog Obedience Training 2
• Dog hydrobathing & basic grooming
• Planning session for Day 5  (volunteer to complete Day 5 schedule with assistance)

Day 5 Friday

• Your own volunteer work day
